IKEA - Flatpack
One of two spots created for IKEA. A Llama sits, working at a desk before being swept up, along with the furniture back into flatpack form. The disassembly of the furniture and dimensions of the boxes needed to be accurate to the product, which required close collaboration with IKEA.
I was the Lead 3D artist, working on site at Future Power Station. Following the designs from the 2D team, I modeled and textured the character. A claymation style was chosen for the look of the Llama. After developing several shaders, a final look was chosen by the client. I built the hair system, and again provided options to the client who settled on a final look.
I rigged the character and prepared the scene, which was then sent to the character animator off site. Additional functionality was added to the rig during this period, depending on the needs of the animator.
I also oversaw the disassembly of the furniture, correcting animation where necessary and checking frame by frame to remove intersections.
